What is Murphy OS: the app suite for planning and running events
Ten apps to produce events: budgets with margin, seating, a live run of show, contracts and registration.
Murphy OS is a suite of ten online apps for planning and producing events: budgets with VAT, fee and margin, scaled floor plans and seating, a live run of show, contracts, registration with QR check-in, a freelance board, digital business cards, an industry jobs radar, branded screen recording and weather forecasting for events. It costs €10.50 a month (or US$12.50), runs in the browser and on mobile, in English and Spanish. It is built by agencies and freelancers who produce events for major brands, and it ships updates every week.
Who it is for
- Freelance event planners who need to budget with margin, sign contracts and run the show the way an agency would.
- Event and MICE agencies, with each team member on their own account and projects shared between them.
- Wedding and celebration planners, with RSVPs, tables the couple can arrange from their phone and a run of show for the day.
- Technical production and stage management, for day-by-day load-in timings, floor plans with equipment lists and a run of show marked off from a phone.
- In-house corporate teams running the convention, kick-off or holiday party on top of their day job.
- Venues, hotels and DMCs, who set up theatre, classroom or reception layouts on their own floor plan and close room blocks with a contract.
The 10 Murphy OS apps
Each app covers one stage of the event, and they connect where it makes sense: Scenes works on Planner events, and Run of show imports the Planner’s setup timeline and agenda.

How they fit together on a real job
An example flow, with example figures, for a 120-pax company dinner:
- The brief lands. You create the project in Planner, build the line items and see your margin before replying.
- The client says yes. You generate the event organisation contract in Contracts, attach the budget and the client signs with a code sent to their email.
- Registration opens. In Forms you use the gala dinner template with meal choice and allergies, in the client’s colours.
- A week out. You paste the list into Scenes, hit Auto-seat and export special meals by table for catering.
- Show day. You send the stage management link to your assistant and the client link to whoever commissioned the event. Everyone sees whether you are on time.
Pricing
- Murphy OS plan: €10.50 a month or US$12.50 a month, all apps included, no lock-in.
- Meteo Murphy is free and open to everyone, with no sign-up.
- On the Freelance Board, publishing your profile is free with registration; the plan gives you unlimited searches.
- Murphy OS is also included in the Método Murphy training subscription.
- Tax depends on your country and on whether you buy as a business or an individual. Checkout shows the total before you pay.
Languages
The Murphy OS interface is in English and Spanish, switched with the ES | EN toggle at the top right. Your choice is saved to your account, on mobile too, and login emails arrive in your language.
Forms publishes in seven languages: Spanish, English, Catalan, French, Portuguese, Italian and German. Contracts lets you choose Spain or Mexico when you create a contract, and is also available in English.
Platforms
- Desktop and mobile browser, nothing to install.
- Installable as an app (PWA) on your phone’s home screen, opening full screen like any other app.
- Plató is desktop only, because it records screen and camera at the same time.
The public website is murphyos.app and the app lives at home.murphyos.app.
How you log in
With your email and a one-time code, or with your Google account. No passwords. If you cancel and come back later, you log in with the same email.
Clients, stage managers and door staff work from links, with no account needed.
How your data is stored
- Projects save automatically to the Murphy OS cloud within seconds.
- You can copy them to Google Drive, Dropbox or a folder on your computer.
- Nothing leaves your account except through links you switch on. Change a link and the old one stops working.
- With your team, you share Planner projects, contracts and forms with another Murphy OS user with View, Comment or Edit permission, and remove it whenever you like.
- Before cancelling you can export what you need as PDF, Excel or JSON.
- For guest data, Forms includes privacy and image consent checkboxes and a data processing agreement for the client to sign.
Who builds it
Murphy OS is built by agencies and freelancers who produce events for major brands. It is not a generic tool adapted to events: each app comes from something we do every week (budgeting, contracting, registering, seating and running the show) and from the problems we hit doing it.
How it is updated
Murphy OS is updated every week based on what users ask for. New features appear under the gift icon on the home screen and, on Mondays, you get a short email with what is new in your apps (only when there is something new, and you can turn it off in one click).
Murphy OS vs spreadsheets and scattered tools
| Spreadsheets and scattered tools | Murphy OS | |
|---|---|---|
| Budget | Home-made formulas that break; margin worked out separately | VAT per line, fee, commissions and live margin, with versions |
| Client PDF | Copy and paste, with the risk of sending your costs | Branded client PDF without margins; internal PDF and Excel for the team |
| Floor plan and seating | Rough sketch or a CAD program | Calibrated plan to scale, auto-seating and exports per team |
| Run of show | A printout that is out of date after the first delay | Chained times, Live mode and stage management checks from a phone |
| Contracts | A Word file inherited from another event | Event templates with optional clauses and code-based signing |
| Registration | Generic form plus a sheet to cross-check data | Branded landing, places, waiting list, QR check-in, badges and rooming |
| Working with the client | Emails with attachments and crossed versions | No-account links to review, comment and follow live |
| Cost | Several subscriptions or hours of DIY setup | €10.50 a month for every app |
